Q.700 série Signalling System 7 (SS7) heritage. Q.931 ISDN Layer 3 signalisation. Q.1900 série Bearer Independent Call Control (BICC). Migration progressive vers IETF SIP/RTP pour VoIP moderne. ITU-T basé à Genève, ~200 pays membres. Membre permanent ONU. Coopération étroite avec IETF, IEEE, 3GPP.

ITU fondee 1865 (premier traite UIT Paris) ; ITU-T cree 1992 par fusion CCITT (depuis 1956).
