FIDO2 utilise public key cryptography : authenticator génère paire clés par site, registration envoie publique au serveur, authentication signe un challenge avec privée. Anti-phishing par origin-binding. Platform Authenticator (intégré device) ou Roaming Authenticator (USB/NFC/BLE).
