Facturae .xsig (XAdES)
Mandatory signature mechanism for Facturae invoices.
Definition
A Facturae invoice must be digitally signed with a XAdES advanced electronic signature to be valid before the administration. The unsigned file carries the .xml extension; once the signature is appended at the end of the document it becomes a .xsig (XML Signed). The signature guarantees the invoice's authenticity and integrity.
Origin
XAdES profile defined by ETSI (TS 101 903, now EN 319 132); its use is mandated by the Facturae specifications published by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry (version 3.2.2).
Example in context
The <ds:Signature> block is inserted at the end of the Facturae file and contains the <xades:SignedProperties> (certificate, timestamp) before the file is saved as .xsig.
