SEFAZ authorisation protocol for electronic fiscal documents.

Definition

After receiving an NF-e, SEFAZ returns a protNFe holding the protocol number (nProt), timestamp, chave de acesso, and a status code (cStat). cStat=100 "Autorizado o uso da NF-e" validates the document; other codes signal rejection or denial. Without this protocol the document has no legal standing.

Origin

The authorisation web service and protNFe structure are defined in the NF-e Manual de Orientação do Contribuinte (MOC) and Pacote de Liberação, published by CONFAZ / ENCAT.
