TED
X12 error segment of the 824, application-level acknowledgement.
Definition
TED is the core of the 824. TED01 (Application Error Condition Code) codes the nature of the error (e.g. invalid value, missing data), while the following elements point to the faulty data element, its received value and a free-text note. The 824 thus reports a business rejection without relying on a purely syntactic 997/999.
Origin
Defined in the ASC X12 Segment Directory (ANSI ASC X12.6 standard), used by transaction set 824 Application Advice, maintained by the Accredited Standards Committee X12.
