CTT
ASC X12 totals-control segment in the transaction trailer area.
Definition
CTT (Transaction Totals) appears in the summary area of transactions such as the 850 (purchase order) or 856 (ship notice). CTT01 holds the number of line loops; CTT02 may carry a hash total (the sum of a value, e.g. quantities) used as an integrity check. It is a reconciliation mechanism, distinct from the SE segment count.
Origin
Defined in the ASC X12 EDI Standard (segment dictionary, CTT segment), maintained by the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ANSI ASC X12).
Example in context
