UNECE Rec 1 standard for paper trade layout.

Definition

The UN Layout Key standardises 36 box positions in A4 portrait format. Adopted by 50+ countries as national template (UK SITPRO, France CCI, US Customs ABI). Electronic successors: UN/EDIFACT, UN/CEFACT XML, UBL.

Origin

UNECE Recommendation No 1 adopted 1973, revised 1981.
