Definition
The TIR system covers 77 contracting parties. eTIR uses harmonised XML messages (TIR-EPD, eTIR Declaration). International eTIR pilot Iran-Turkey launched 2018 ; extended deployment EU and Central Asia 2024-2027. IRU guarantees (Geneva).

UNECE TIR Convention adopted 1975 (entered into force 1978).
