ST02 element of the ST header, X12 transaction control numbers.

Definition

ST02 (Transaction Set Control Number) is 4 to 9 characters, unique within a functional group. SE02 repeats the same value, closing the ST…SE loop; a 997 acknowledgement references this number in AK2 to report acceptance or rejection of each individual transaction set.

Defined in the ASC X12 Transaction Set Structures (ST header / SE trailer), published by the Accredited Standards Committee X12 (ANSI ASC X12).
