SNOMED CT structure: Concepts (Clinical Finding, Procedure, Body Structure, etc.), Descriptions (preferred term, synonyms), Relationships (is-a, has-component, etc.), Reference Sets. Member countries pay annual fee proportional to population (~$100K-$2M). Editions: International Edition + National Extensions (UK, US, Spain, Sweden, etc.). Mandatory adoption: NHS UK 2018, France 2021 (ANS Agence du Numerique en Sante).

SNOMED created 1965 by College of American Pathologists ; SNOMED CT created 2002 by merging SNOMED RT + UK Clinical Terms V3 ; IHTSDO 2007 ; rebranded SNOMED International 2017.
