Definition
SBTi target categories: Near-term targets (5-10 years), Long-term targets (towards 2050), Net-Zero targets. Specific standards: Corporate Net-Zero Standard (published 2021), Financial Institutions Net-Zero Standard (published 2024), Aviation Sector Guidance, Buildings Sector Guidance, Forest Land and Agriculture (FLAG) Guidance, Power Sector Guidance, etc. Validation process: Application + Validation + Public Disclosure. SBTi Net-Zero standard requires deep decarbonization 90-95% emissions reduction + residual offset via certified carbon removals.
