RxNorm uses RxCUI (Concept Unique Identifier). Hierarchy: IN (Ingredient) → SCD (Semantic Clinical Drug) → SBD (Semantic Branded Drug). Aligns FDA NDC, VA NDF-RT, Multum, Micromedex, MTHFR. Distributed via UMLS Metathesaurus monthly. Used by all US Meaningful Use EHRs.
