QR-IBAN
The QR-IBAN, the special account identifier of the Swiss QR-bill.
Definition
The QR-IBAN is distinguished from a regular IBAN by its IID (positions 5 to 9) lying in the 30000–31999 range. It must be used with a 27-digit QR reference (former BVR/ESR reference number), ensuring automated reconciliation. A standard IBAN, by contrast, is used with the ISO 11649 Creditor Reference or with no reference.
Origin
Defined by the QR-bill Implementation Guidelines of the Swiss Payment Standards (SIX Group); IBAN structure per ISO 13616.
Example in context
CH44 3199 9123 0008 8901 2 — IID 31999 marks a QR-IBAN, to be paired with a QRR (QR reference).
