PINT-AE
The UAE's Peppol invoice specification.
Definition
PINT-AE constrains the OpenPeppol PINT base (a UBL-syntax billing model) with UAE-specific business rules, code lists and tax requirements. In-scope businesses must issue invoices as PINT-AE XML and transmit them only through a Ministry of Finance Accredited Service Provider (ASP) across the Peppol network, with tax data reported to the Federal Tax Authority in parallel (the five-corner model).
Origin
Published by the UAE Ministry of Finance as the national PINT specialisation governed under OpenPeppol's PINT framework; the UAE MoF is the designated Peppol Authority. Rollout begins with a July 2026 pilot.
Example in context
An ERP exports a UAE sale as PINT-AE XML (cbc:CustomizationID referencing the PINT-AE specification id) and hands it to the seller's ASP for Peppol delivery and FTA reporting.
