Peppol Participant Identifier
Addressing identifier for Peppol network participants.
Definition
A participant is addressed by a scheme::value pair, where the scheme comes from the Peppol Electronic Address Scheme (EAS) code list — itself aligned with ISO/IEC 6523 ICD codes (e.g. 0208 = Belgian company number, 0088 = GS1 GLN). This identifier is the lookup key in both the SML and the SMP.
Origin
Defined by OpenPeppol's Peppol Policy for use of Identifiers and the Peppol Code Lists (EAS), drawing on the ICD codes of the ISO/IEC 6523 standard.
Example in context
iso6523-actorid-upis::0208:0123456789 identifies a Belgian entity; carried in the SBDH envelope and used for SML/SMP discovery.
