Peppol Authority

Peppol governance role, a domain authority delegated by OpenPEPPOL.

Definition

A Peppol Authority is an OpenPEPPOL member to which the association delegates, through the Peppol Authority Agreement, governance of the network within its jurisdiction (a country or region). The PA contracts with Service Providers via the Service Provider Agreement, oversees their accreditation, and may publish Peppol Authority Specific Requirements (PASR). For example, the SPF BOSA in Belgium or the ATO in Australia.

Origin

Defined in the Peppol Interoperability Framework and the Peppol Authority Agreement (v4.0.1), published by OpenPEPPOL AISBL and in force since 1 July 2022.

Example in context

A Service Provider wishing to operate in Belgium signs a Service Provider Agreement with SPF BOSA, the Belgian Peppol Authority, and complies with the Belgian PASR.
