Peppol Access Point
Certified transport gateway of the Peppol eDelivery Network.
Definition
An Access Point is operated by a certified service provider that has signed the Peppol Transport Infrastructure Agreement. It connects its clients to the network, applies the Peppol AS4 profile, signs messages with a certificate issued by the Peppol PKI, and guarantees interoperability with every other AP.
Origin
Governed by the Peppol Transport Infrastructure Agreement and the Peppol AS4 Profile, published by OpenPeppol AISBL.
Example in context
A receiving AP (C3) accepts an AS4 message, validates the signature against the Peppol PKI, then issues a signed acknowledgement (AS4 Receipt) back to the sending AP.
