Virtual File
OFTP2 transfer concept, file abstraction.
Definition
OFTP2 does not transfer operating-system files but virtual files: an abstraction identified by a dataset name (SFIDDSN) and a timestamp (SFIDDATE / SFIDTIME), with an ODETTE origin and destination. The SFID (Start File) command carries its attributes — format, estimated size, restart position — decoupling the exchange from each partner's local naming conventions.
