The tripartite Europe / Japan / North America automotive EDI forum.

Definition

The Joint Automotive Industry Forum brings together Odette (Europe), JAMA & JAPIA (Japan) and AIAG (North America) to harmonise messages and recommendations. It has published global EDIFACT guidelines (DELJIT, DELFOR, DESADV) and the Global Transport Label specification.

Its permanent JAIF Leadership Group meets quarterly and sets up temporary groups on specific topics; it has also established an RFID Expert Group. JAIF has also published recommendations on the identification of returnable transport items (RTI).
