Structured Address
ISO 20022 market practice on address formatting inside PstlAdr.
Definition
Within the PstlAdr block, the structured address populates StrtNm, BldgNb, PstCd, TwnNm and Ctry (ISO 3166 code) instead of free-text AdrLine lines. CBPR+ and HVPS+ allow a hybrid format during a transition period but require unstructured addresses to be dropped by the November 2026 deadline.
Origin
PostalAddress element of the ISO 20022 catalogue; formatting rule mandated by the CBPR+ and HVPS+ Market Practice Guidelines (Payments Market Practice Group, PMPG), November 2026 deadline.
Example in context
<PstlAdr><StrtNm>Rue de Rivoli</StrtNm><BldgNb>10</BldgNb><PstCd>75001</PstCd><TwnNm>Paris</TwnNm><Ctry>FR</Ctry></PstlAdr>
