ISO 20022 Repository
The central dictionary and catalogue of the ISO 20022 standard.
Definition
The Repository is the central registry of ISO 20022. The Data Dictionary stores message components, data types and reusable elements (Business Components / Message Components); the Business Process Catalogue describes the business processes. Message definitions and XSDs are derived from this common store, ensuring semantic consistency across families (pacs, camt, pain, sese…).
Origin
Maintained by the ISO 20022 Registration Authority (SWIFT, appointed by ISO TC 68) and published on iso20022.org under the governance of the Registration Management Group.
Example in context
The reusable component PostalAddress or FinancialInstitutionIdentification is defined once in the Data Dictionary, then referenced by pacs.008, camt.053, pain.001, etc.
