Definition
ISO 15022 defines a data dictionary (Common Elements Dictionary) and a FIN syntax (text-based, SWIFT MT-style). MT 540-547 cover settlement/delivery instructions, MT 564-568 cover corporate actions. Maintained by SMPG (Securities Market Practice Group). Being progressively replaced by ISO 20022 but still in production.
Origin
First edition 1999. ISO 20022 was designed to enable a progressive migration from 15022.
