UN/EDIFACT inventory reporting message, a cornerstone of collaborative replenishment (VMI/CRP).
Definition
INVRPT conveys the stock situation (quantities on hand, in transit, available, planned) for a product identified by GTIN at a given location. It is the key input that lets the supplier compute replenishment under a VMI or CRP model.
Origin
A message type of the UN/EDIFACT United Nations Standard Messages (UNSM), published in the UNTDID (United Nations Trade Data Interchange Directory) and maintained by UN/CEFACT.
