UNB0020
Data element 0020 of the UNB segment, EDIFACT control numbers.
Definition
DE 0020 is a string of up to 14 characters, unique per interchange for a given trading pair and assigned by the sender. UNZ repeats the same reference in its own DE 0020; the equality UNB.0020 = UNZ.0020 closes the envelope and lets the receiver reject an already-processed retransmission.
Origin
Defined in ISO 9735 (UN/EDIFACT — Application level syntax rules), maintained by UN/CEFACT; DE 0020 appears in the service element directory.
