IRP
Central component of India's GST e-invoicing system, a clearance model.
Definition
The IRP is the mandatory clearance gateway of GST e-invoicing. It checks the GSTIN, uniqueness and schema, computes the IRN hash, digitally signs the invoice and returns IRN + QrCode + Acknowledgement Number. NIC runs the primary IRP (einvoice1.gst.gov.in); several accredited private IRPs exist since 2023.
Origin
Defined by the GST Council and notified by the CBIC (Notification 13/2020 – Central Tax), operated under the GSTN and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
