Definition

FCA is the most versatile multimodal incoterm. Incoterms 2020 adds OBL (On-Board Bill of Lading) clause on buyer request for Letter of Credit. Often used for maritime containers (vs classic FOB).

Origin

Introduced in Incoterms 1990 ; updated in Incoterms 2020 with OBL option.
