DDP is the Incoterm with maximum seller obligations. Costly and complex for the seller, who must navigate buyer-country import customs. Often used for cross-border B2C e-commerce (Amazon Global, AliExpress) for transparent consumer pricing.
Origin
Present since Incoterms 1990.

AliExpress sells DDP to a French consumer — displayed price includes transport, customs, 20% French VAT.
