IHE profile for document exchange across HIE communities.

Definition

XCA introduces Initiating Gateway (requester side) and Responding Gateway (remote community side) actors. Cross Community Query (ITI-38) and Cross Community Retrieve (ITI-39) transactions based on the equivalent XDS transactions but routed between communities. Essential for the CommonWell-Carequality bridge and eHealth Exchange.

IHE ITI Technical Committee, XCA published 2008, complements XDS for federated HIE interconnection.

Usage

Technical core of the CommonWell-Carequality bridge, eHealth Exchange QHIN, European cross-border networks (eHealth DSI epSOS legacy).
