STS (IFTSTA)

EDIFACT status segment, the heart of the IFTSTA tracking message.

Definition

The STS (Status) segment declares the state of a tracking event: a status category, the status itself (code list UNCL 4405) and, optionally, a status reason (UNCL 9011). It is usually framed by DTM (event date/time) and LOC (place) to situate the reported step.

Origin

Segment and code lists defined in the UN/EDIFACT directory of UNECE/CEFACT; the status draws on UNCL 4405 (Status, coded) and the reason on UNCL 9011 (Status reason, coded.)
