HL7 v2 trigger event, Chapter 3 Patient Administration, demographic update.
Definition
A08 is one of the most frequently sent ADT events: it transmits a corrected version of demographic (PID) or visit (PV1) data without changing the encounter status. It reuses the ADT_A01 abstract structure. It must not be confused with A31 (Update Person Information), which updates an identity at the MPI level outside any visit context.
