Definition
GTIN-8: 8 digits for small products (sodas, mini-confectionery). GTIN-12: 12 digits UPC-A, originally US. GTIN-13: 13 digits EAN-13, European standard. GTIN-14: 14 digits ITF-14, for cartons and pallets (consume unit X multiplier). All stored padded to 14 digits in databases for interoperability. AI (01) in GS1 Application Identifier.
