Definition
The GDTI is made of the GS1 Company Prefix, a document type reference and a check digit, optionally followed by a serial component that makes each instance unique. It is carried by AI (253) in barcodes and messages.
Origin
Defined as a GS1 identification key in the GS1 General Specifications, maintained by GS1 AISBL.
Example in context
