Definition
GitOps prescribes 4 principles (Weaveworks, 2017): declarative, versioned, automatically deployed, continuously observed. Applied to EDI: mappings (version Schematron rules), routes (version Camel routing.xml), secrets (sealed-secrets in clear in Git, automatic encryption).
Origin
Concept coined by Weaveworks (Alexis Richardson) in 2017. Popularised by Argo CD and Flux CD.
