Definition
FIATA FWR specifications: distinctive olive green colour, can be negotiable (by endorsement, like warehouse warrant for banks collateral lending) or non-negotiable by specific clause. Mandatory data: warehouse keeper name, warehouse address, goods description (nature, quantity, marks), receipt date, storage conditions. Main use: bank financing using FWR as collateral for pre-export lending (commodity trading), trade finance setoff. Functions in duo with FCR FIATA Forwarders Certificate of Receipt (FCR less formalised). Today usage decreased with digital warehouse management systems but persists commodity trades (cocoa, coffee, cotton, cereals). Paper format + planned eFWR.
