EN 16931 is the reference Factur-X profile: it implements the full core invoice model of the European standard.

Definition

The EN 16931 profile of Factur-X, formerly named Comfort, is the profile fully compliant with the European EN 16931 standard. It implements the entire core semantic model of the invoice (core invoice) defined at the European Union level.

What it is for

• Guarantee an e-invoice compliant with European requirements, usable in B2B and B2G exchanges.
• Cover common to complex invoicing cases without resorting to the proprietary extensions of the EXTENDED profile.
• Serve as the recommended target for most companies subject to an e-invoicing obligation.

Good to know

The rename from Comfort to EN 16931 reflects its full alignment with the standard. Beyond it, the EXTENDED profile adds fields outside the normative core for advanced business needs.
