The unique EU customs identifier of any import/export company.
Definition
Structure: ISO 3166 country code (2 letters) + 12 alphanumeric characters (often the SIRET in FR, VAT number in NL, etc.). Mandatory for any CDS, NCTS, AES, ICS 2 customs declaration. Verifiable via the DG TAXUD EORI validation service.
Origin
Introduced by Regulation (EC) 312/2009. Mandatory since 1 July 2009.
