Business Group (BG)

A logical container of business terms in the EN 16931 model.

Definition

A Business Group gathers Business Terms describing the same entity (e.g. BG-25 Invoice line, BG-4 Seller). Its cardinality (often 0..n) carries repeatability: BG-25 models each invoice line, independently of UBL or CII syntax.

Origin

Defined in EN 16931-1:2017 (CEN/TC 434), alongside Business Terms, within the semantic model of the core invoice.

Example in context

BG-25 (Invoice line) → cac:InvoiceLine in UBL; BG-23 (VAT breakdown) → cac:TaxSubtotal.
