Definition
Private interoperability certification program for AS2 (and AS1, AS3) run by Drummond Group since 2002. A Drummond-certified solution has demonstrated interoperability with roughly twenty partner AS2 products.
Origin
Launched in 2002 by Drummond Group LLC; complemented by ebMS / AS4 programs. The Drummond label became a prerequisite in North American retail (Walmart, Target, Costco).
Use
An EDI vendor selling AS2 in North America must present its Drummond certification to be listed. Testing covers signatures, encryption, sync/async MDN and error handling.
