Definition
DCSA eBL v3.0 (2023) includes Negotiable and Non-Negotiable BoL. REST API with /electronic-bill-of-lading endpoints. Compatible with the UNECE Trade Document Function Group. Target 100% eBL by 2030 by the nine major DCSA carriers (Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen, Yang Ming, HMM, Zim).
The specifications describe the electronic bill of lading lifecycle — issuance, transfer by endorsement, surrender and amendment — and are published as OpenAPI definitions backed by a JSON data model. eBL platforms align with the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records (MLETR).
