CDT
The data-type catalogue of the CCTS Core Component model.
Definition
A Core Data Type pairs a content component (the value) with supplementary components that qualify it — for example an Amount carries the supplementary component "Currency. Code". Restricted for business use, a CDT becomes a Business Data Type (BDT). The standardised catalogue is published by UN/CEFACT (CCT — Core Component Types).
Origin
Specified by the UN/CEFACT Core Components Technical Specification (CCTS 2.01 / ISO 15000-5) and the associated Core Component Type catalogue.
Example in context
The CDT "Amount. Type" = Content Component (decimal) + Supplementary Component "Amount Currency. Identifier" → 100.00 EUR.
