44-digit identifier of Brazilian electronic fiscal documents.

Definition

The 44 digits encode the state code (cUF), issue year-month (YYMM), the issuer's CNPJ, the model (55 NF-e, 65 NFC-e, 57 CT-e, 58 MDF-e), series, document number, emission type, a random numeric code, and a module-11 check digit (DV).

Origin

Its structure is specified in the NF-e Manual de Orientação do Contribuinte (MOC) (Ajuste SINIEF 07/2005), published by CONFAZ / ENCAT.
