CDTTRFTXINFRCT
CdtTrfTxInfRct is the <CdtTrfTxInfRct> block of pacs.004 (Payment Return) that describes the original transaction being returned.
Definition
When a pacs.008 cannot be finalised (missing account, AML, etc.), the receiving bank emits a pacs.004 (Payment Return). The <CdtTrfTxInfRct> carries the original transaction (EndToEndId references, amount) plus the return reason (<RtrRsnInf>).
Origin
Present since pacs.004.001.01 (2010). Its mirror structure <CdtTrfTxInf>/<CdtTrfTxInfRct> lets every bank on the path cross-reference the return with the original instruction.
Use
A German bank receives a pacs.008 but cannot find the beneficiary account. It emits a pacs.004 containing <CdtTrfTxInfRct> with <OrgnlEndToEndId>INV-2026-042</OrgnlEndToEndId> and <RtrRsnInf><Rsn><Cd>AC01</Cd></Rsn></RtrRsnInf> (Incorrect Account Number).
