CT-e (Conhecimento de Transporte eletrônico) is the transport counterpart of NFe. Issued by carriers in Brazil, validates the transport service, computes ICMS on freight. Digitally-signed XML authorised by SEFAZ. Version 4.00 in use.

Origin

Established by Ato COTEPE 09/2007. Mandatory for all transport modalities (road, rail, air, fluvial).
