Definition

B2G — Business-to-Government, commercial scope of exchanges between a company and a public administration. Primary target of EN 16931, PEPPOL and Chorus Pro.

Origin

Directive 2014/55/EU mandates that EU public administrations accept e-invoices compliant with EN 16931 since 2019. PEPPOL is the dominant implementation.

Use

A French SME issues its B2G invoice via Chorus Pro to a ministry; the portal accepts CII XML, UBL 2.1 and Factur-X. Routing uses Leitweg-ID (in Germany) or SIRET (in France).
