Definition
The ARD (Monetary Amount Function) segment describes the function of an amount (payment, discount, withholding) and identifies the account or party that receives it. It carries a function code (UNCL 5009) and the associated account details.
Origin
ARD is referenced in the UN/CEFACT UNTDID. It appears in payment, documentary remittance and banking instruction messages where every amount must be traced down to a specific account.
