MT210 — Notice to Receive
Funds arrival heads-up: one bank tells another (often its correspondent) that it will receive a credit on its account. Key intraday cash management tool.
Purpose
MT210 serves the treasury manager holding nostros with several correspondents. To anticipate intraday liquidity, the sender notifies the correspondent: "on that date, expect an incoming credit of X USD on my account". The correspondent can then schedule outflows within the same window. If the incoming credit does not arrive, the bank can quickly investigate and trigger backup funding.

-}{5:{CHK:CAFE12345678}} Common pitfalls
- Wrong :25: nostro: the receiver does not know which account to mentally credit.
- More than one ordering institution per occurrence: one occurrence = one ordering party ; otherwise open several occurrences.
- Confusion with MT103 / MT202: MT210 does not create any accounting entry — it is a pure heads-up.
- Past :30:: usage lost, correspondent ignores.
MX equivalent
The ISO 20022 equivalent is camt.057.001.06 (Notification To Receive). Same blocks (target account, expected amount, value date, ordering party), but XML structure and richer ID set (UETR, EndToEndId).
