EDIFACT versions

UN/CEFACT publishes two directories per year, named D.YY[A|B]. Here is the exhaustive list of releases since D.93A, with year, usage status and sector-adoption notes.

List built from the official UN/EDIFACT archive published by UN/CEFACT (service.unece.org/trade/untdid) and from the recent-directory downloads (unece.org/trade/uncefact/unedifact/download). Fifteen directories are now fully archived and consumed by the ediverse.io semantic validator: D.96A, D.97A, D.99B, D.00B, D.01B, D.02B, D.05A, D.08A, D.10A, D.13B, D.16B, D.18B, D.20B, D.21B and D.24A. D.96A additionally has a dedicated editorial page (ORDERS/ORDRSP/INVOIC/DESADV/CONTRL) plus 42 long-tail pages (37 V11.E + 10 V12.D), and the other fourteen directories each ship between 28 and 47 dedicated message pages depending on per-message lineage. V10.B adds CUSCAR, CUSREP, INSDES, INSREQ, JINFDE, MEDPRE, PROTAP, BMISRM and BAPLTE to the 20 V9.B pages, plus a notice for KEYMAN (not published as a standalone message by UN/CEFACT). V11.E extends coverage with CALINF, COACSU (absent from D.96A/D.97A), CONITT, DOCADV and JOBAPP. V12.D adds 14 messages to the five flagship directories (D.96A, D.10A, D.16B, D.21B, D.24A): CONDPV, COSTCO, GESMES, HANMOV, IFCSUM, IFTDGN, MEQPOS, OSTRPT, PRODAT, PROSRV, SAFHAZ, SLSFCT, CUSEXP and TANSTA (D.96A only gets 10 of these, since MEQPOS/OSTRPT/PRODAT/PROSRV were introduced later; VATCAN is not published in any UN/CEFACT directory). V13.C adds the maritime / shipping-container layer to the same five flagship directories: CASRES, CASINT, COSTOR, COREOR, COPRAR, COPINO, CODECO and COHAOR (D.96A only gets 6, since CASRES and CASINT do not exist in D.96A — and the CAS- codes actually designate civil-proceedings legal-administration messages, not container messages). V14.C adds the energy / payment / waste layer to the same five flagship directories: MSCONS (metered services consumption report), UTILMD (utility master data — backbone of the German GPKE / GeLi Gas profiles), UTILTS (utility time series), CONPVA (payment valuation), PRPAID (pre-paid account maintenance) and WASDIS (waste-disposal information — EWC / LoW classification). D.96A only gets 2 (CONPVA, PRPAID), since MSCONS / UTILMD / UTILTS / WASDIS were introduced after that release. V19.C extends cross-version saturation to the 10 flagship directories (D.96A, D.99B, D.01B, D.05A, D.08A, D.10A, D.16B, D.18B, D.21B, D.24A) with 5 new messages: DELFOR (forecast delivery schedule), DELJIT (automotive just-in-time call-off), APERAK (application ack beyond CONTRL), INVRPT (VMI inventory report) and SLSRPT (retail sales report). The D.96A pages for these five messages are hand-authored editorial and preserved by EDITORIAL_GUARD; the other 9 directories are generated (90 pages, 45 FR + 45 EN).
