Sovos alternatives
On this page
Sovos is one of the 21 suites in the ediverse comparison. If you are evaluating it, here are the other options on the market — with stated, sourced and dated capabilities, and no ranking.
The starting point
Sovos (E-invoicing & compliance network): US-based tax compliance and e-invoicing software vendor whose cloud platform spans VAT/indirect tax, reporting and continuous transaction controls (CTC) on a global scale. Its detailed profile — standards, protocols, strengths and watch-outs — is on the Sovos page. The alternatives below are grouped by category: the right comparison point is not the name but the model (B2B platform, iPaaS, e-invoicing network, ERP-native).
B2B platform / EDI & VAN
- Cleo Integration Cloud — Ecosystem integration: EDI, API and non-EDI files on a single platform, in cloud, on-prem or hybrid.
- Comarch EDI — B2B data-exchange (EDI), e-invoicing and supply-chain collaboration platform from the Polish IT group Comarch, positioned around integrating commercial documents between trading partners.
- Data Interchange — UK-based EDI vendor, founded 1986 and acquired by Epicor in 2022, positioned around B2B integration via its DiNet value-added network and EDI gateways, with deep historical roots in automotive and manufacturing across Europe.
- Generix — French SaaS vendor of collaborative supply-chain and B2B solutions, combining EDI, flow integration and e-invoicing, with a strong footprint in retail, distribution and logistics across Europe.

- OpenText Business Network — The heir to GXS Trading Grid: one of the largest global B2B / VAN networks, part of the OpenText suite (ECM, supply chain).
- SEEBURGER — German vendor whose BIS (Business Integration Suite) platform combines EDI/B2B, managed file transfer (MFT), API management and iPaaS in a single suite.

- TrueCommerce — North American B2B commerce platform and network combining EDI, trading-partner connectivity and omnichannel integration, with a pre-connected retailer network and managed services.
iPaaS / integration platform
- Boomi — General-purpose iPaaS (application, data, API integration) with B2B/EDI capabilities — for those wanting a single integration platform beyond EDI.
- Lobster — German vendor of a no-code/low-code data integration platform (Lobster_data) spanning EDI, ETL and APIs to connect systems, cloud applications and trading partners.
- MuleSoft — API-led integration platform (iPaaS) from MuleSoft (a Salesforce company since 2018), with a B2B/EDI module (Anypoint Partner Manager) for business-document exchange.

ERP-native integration
- SAP Integration Suite — Native integration for the SAP ecosystem: IDoc internally, plus a B2B add-on (EDIFACT/X12) and SAP Business Network (ex-Ariba) outward.
How to choose
- Your standards first — EDIFACT, X12, Peppol, Factur-X: eliminate whatever does not cover your actual flows.
- The integration model — vendor-managed mapping or a platform tooled for your own team: two philosophies, two costs of ownership.
- E-invoicing compliance — check country by country (France, Belgium, Germany…) rather than on a marketing map.
- The POC decides — only a pilot on your own flows measures throughput, latency and fit. The full matrix builds the shortlist; it does not make the decision.
